MOMMYLICIOUS
I am a little late posting this because I was caught up with Spring cleaning. As you know my resolution this year was to pamper and invest in myself and hence all the beauty subscription services. My house was just filled with boxes and I now have an overwhelming amount of makeup which I had to organize.
Anyway, getting back to the March Birchbox at hand. This month's box made it on time and I was happy to be using the products in the same month (unlike February).
The theme of the March Birchbox is Ready for Anything. It has products that help to put together a look in no time. There is always a little postcard that comes inside the box that gives out the theme of the month and enlists the products and prices.
This month's box looks like this:
The March Birchbox had the pastel shades of Spring on the box.
1. Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream
It is a moisturizer and is supposed to be the ultimate soother. This is not greasy at all and gets absorbed into the skin very fast. It has a mild but pleasant scent. The full size of the cream retails for $26.50.
2. MILK Studio Lip Color
I got this Lip color from MILK Studios in the shade Cream. I like the shade as it is mix between mauve and nude, and I am a sucker for nude shades. It is really pigmented and has a matte finish. This lip color had stayed on for pretty long and needed touch-up after about 4 hours. The only thing I am not too happy about is the size. I have not seen any sample sized lipstick as small as this one. I wish it was bigger. The Full size retails for $22.
3. Smashbox Eyeshadow Trio
This set of 3 natural shades of eyeshadow is great for everyday wear. It is good for on-the-go, size wise. You can create a few looks both for day and night-time with these colors. These eyeshadows are pretty pigmented and stay for long. The full size retails for $28.
4. PARLOR by Jeff Chastain
This is a blowout spray for adding instant volume and lustre to your hair. It also protects the hair from heat damage. I am not too fond of blowout hairsprays, so I am not happy to receive this product. This is the only product in the box that I am not finding useful. The full size retails foir $24.
5. Wilma Schumann Eye Pads
These hydrating collagen eye pads restore, hydrate and plump the eye contours gently and naturally. These eye pads can only be used once and the pack has 1 pair. I find such products a waste because I cannot decide whether I like a product or the formula just with one use. These eye pads did come in handy for my tired eyes after a really rough week. The full size retails for $18.
Overall, I have mixed feeling toward the March Birchbox. While I really loved the lip color and the eyeshadow, I was disappointed to receive products like the hairspray and eye pads. I really expected more from Birchbox.
I am in half a mind to discontinue my Birchbox subscription because all the 5 products are sample-sized. Let me know what you think of Birchbox and what products you have received this month.
